Implantology is the science of replacing natural teeth with permanently embedded artificial teeth. The result is a greater degree of utility, comfort and convenience for patients requiring tooth replacement.

Accordingly, Dr. Cody has spent considerable time in developing his knowledge and skills in implantology. He has studied in small groups with several of the nation's leading implantologists and continues to attend seminars on emerging implant technology.

In 1992, Dr. Cody was awarded the Fellowship of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists in recognition of his achievement in the field. At the time of this award only 4% of the organizations member's had been so recognized. Following this, he then went on to achieve the highest honor possible in Implantology -- that of Diplomate in the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. As of 1994 this honor had only been earned by 290 implantologists in the world.

Dr. Cody also maintains membership in the American Society of Osseointegration, American Academy of Implant Dentistry and the American Acadmy of Implant Prosthodontics.

As of July 2002, Dr. Cody is one of three Diplomates in the International Congress of Oral Implantologists in Connecticut who performs both implant surgical placement and implant restorations. New London and Danbury, Connecticut are the locations of the other two Diplomate practices that provide both services "under one roof."
